‘The Catch’: Watch NFL Network highlights of the game-winning touchdown by QB Drew Brees
“You know what, I love being a quarterback.
I think the best thing I could do is be a football player and play football, so I’m really excited about that.”
Brees is the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history and his career record is 7,086-9,907.
He has been in the NFL since 2006.
Brees is the only NFL player to throw for at least 3,000 yards and 1,000 touchdowns and he has the NFL record for career passing yards with 9,957.
He was drafted in the second round by the New Orleans Saints in the 2008 NFL draft.
He signed a five-year, $100 million contract extension with the Saints in 2021.
Bridgewater, who has played all four of his seasons with the Vikings, has thrown for at, or over, 3,100 yards and five touchdowns in his career.
He threw for 1,066 yards and four touchdowns during the Vikings’ 27-24 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

(AP Photo/John Raoux)Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, a former Minnesota Vikings quarterback, said he doesn’t understand why the team was worried about Brees’ career record and said he didn’t know about Brees being a backup.
Zimmer said Brees is playing well, but he doesn.
“He’s not playing great.
I don’t know.
I’m not really sure,” Zimmer said.
“If you’re a backup quarterback, and you’ve got to get the ball out of your hands, that’s a different game.
I would never say you’re not a backup, but I don of course think that he’s not a starter.
It would be great to have him as a backup to Teddy Bridgewater.””
I think it’s a great compliment to his record.
It would be great to have him as a backup to Teddy Bridgewater.”
Brees was not happy about the way the Vikings reacted to his passing.
Brett Favre, the quarterback who started all 16 games for the Vikings in 2015, was on ESPN’s “First Take” Sunday.
Favre said, “I don’t like it at all.
I like it when you win, I like when you get a touchdown.
But I’m just a fan.
You can’t be happy when your quarterback doesn’t get a win.
I mean, I think that’s very disrespectful to the fans.
He needs a big game. “
You want your quarterback to get a big win?
He needs a big game.
You want him the best, and he hasn’t done it.
You got to go out there and make the plays.”
Favre said Brees should have been given a chance to play in the opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 6.
Brees, who was limited with a strained hamstring and was out of the lineup for six games in 2016, threw for 476 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Philadelphia.
He had the first career 100-yard passing game in a 17-13 win over Seattle.
Brees threw for a season-high 326 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks in Week 1.

He has surpassed 2,500 yards five times in his NFL career.
